Joseph Zoboi: In The Beginning...Joseph Zoboi was born in Cleveland, Ohio to a Liberian father and a Trinidadian mother. Raised in both countries, he draws from African cosmology and Caribbean imagery to create surreal and spiritually enlightening images in his paintings. Joseph is an art teacher and he attended the Pratt Institute of Art and Design, but is mostly self-taught. He lives in Brooklyn with his wife, writer Ibi Aanu Zoboi, and his daughter.
