Strange Horizons Gallery Presents...

Andrew Woolf: Views From The Interior

My work is often impressionistic and is influenced by modern Surrealism, and contemporary Japanese styling methods. I come from a formal background in painting and drawing. I've been exhibiting since the late 1970s, moved into computer art five years ago, and currently output exclusively digital work. My primary methods include pixel painting and drawing, digitaized photography, and 3d modeling and design. My focus is to produce works . . . that have the warmth and feel of classic art forms, yet are 100% digital. My studio is in Yucca Valley, CA, where I work as a freelance artist.

For the Strange Horizons gallery, I have selected pieces from four thematic genres within which I often create. These are (in no particular order) Allegorical Surrealism, Abstract Surrealism, SF portraiture, and SF Film Scenes. In studio I'm most comfortable working spontaneously, preferring to allow my subconscious the lion's share of the conceptualisation process.
