Spring 2005 Fund Drive
This fund drive has now closed! If you're looking to support Strange Horizons, please see our main donate page.
Strange Horizons has been bringing you some of the most exciting and vibrant voices in speculative fiction since September of 2000. We have a reputation for being friendly to new writers, for showcasing diversity and innovation in speculative fiction, and for producing an excellent and professional publication each week. We're passionate about what we do—so much so, in fact, that our forty-two staff members are willing to work for free!
Strange Horizons has always depended on donations from our readers to keep our publication going. Our staff doesn't get paid, but our contributors do, and paying professional rates for high-quality fiction, poetry, art, and nonfiction is something we are committed to doing. We're hoping to raise $2500 this month, which is about one-sixth of our annual budget, and we'd love for you, reader, to be a part of that.
Everyone who donates during the fund-drive month (March 7-April 14) will be entered in a drawing for one of our fantabulous fund drive prizes. As always, we're happy to take donations of any amount, but if you donate $25 or more, you can become a Strange Horizons reader-member, which entitles you to a glossy illustrated collectible membership card and a discount on the Strange Horizons annual anthologies. (Different gift packages are available at different donation levels—see our membership page for full details about our membership levels.) Becoming a Strange Horizons member costs less than subscribing to most print magazines, and you'll have the added warm and fuzzy feeling of knowing that you're helping to sustain one of the most exciting publications in the field. And since we're a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, your donation to Strange Horizons is tax-deductible!
