Solar sails are without a doubt the most poetic of all forms of near-future spacecraft: gigantic, mirror-like, hundreds of miles wide but gossamer thin, riding on currents of unfiltered sunlight.
"Don't forget where you come from," she says to me.
She sends a herd of horses / Stampeding across the sky, / to pull the covering from his bed.
A small man whose gestures & intonation burned with fevered zeal, Owings exhorted his audience to Pray! Pray for the Holy Spirit to lead them into the ways of righteousness! As he shouted, the air inside the hall began to sparkle, golden motes drifting down. I doubted my eyes, but others were seeing it too, looking up, gaping.
