After an unscheduled hiatus, here's an end-of-year round-up of what SH contributors have been up to.

Starting with some new books. Alan DeNiro's latest collection Tyrannia And Other Renditions is out from Small Beer Press (we published the title story in 2009). End of the Road ed. Jonathan Oliver, from Solaris, includes stories by Zen Cho, Anil Menon, Rochita Loenen-Ruiz and Vandana Singh, among others. Rachael Acks (whose "Significant Figures" is in our current issue, has also published an ebook novella, Do Shut Up, Mister Simms, with Musa Publishing. Upper Rubber Boot has just published The Mask Game, Sergey Gerasimov's first novel to be translated into English (sixth overall). And audiobooks are now out for two of Marie Brennan's novels, Lies and Prophecy and A Natural History of Dragons.

Moving to poetry, Bryan Thao Worra's new collection Demonstra is out from Innsmouth Free Press. Mythic Delirium has reached its penultimate print issue, including Alexandra Seidel's "The Ice Thief", Ada Hoffmann's "The Witch's Courting Song", "The Siren of Mayberry Crescent", and "The Tooth Fairy Throws in the Towel", and "Hypnos and Thanatos" by Sonya Taaffe among others. (The current edition of the online incarnation features work by Liz Bourke, Yoon Ha Lee, David Sklar, and others.) The space opera anthology Raygun Chronicles includes a poem by Kaolin Fire. David Lunde's "I Do Not Need Them Now, the Beasts" appears in the Winter edition of December Magazine; Ada Hoffmann's "The Changeling's Escape" is in the December Ideomancer. AJ Odasso's "Heaven & Earth" is in the latest Niteblade. Jessy Randall has been here and there, with two poetry comics in Greenwoman, five collaborative poems with audio in The Poetry Storehouse, and a poem in Snakeskin -- which also includes two poems by Sara Norja, "Microhistory" and "Rain-washed". FJ Bergmann has three ekphrastic poems in The Toast, illustrated by Kelli Hoppmann; plus "Unfastening a Hook Stud" in The 5-2: Crime Poetry Weekly. Some new stories. The latest issue of The Journal of Unlikely Entomology, co-edited by AC Wise, includes Alvaro Zinos-Amaro's "The Wall Garden", and Nghi Vo's "Pompilid", among others. Clarkesworld in November included Seth Dickinson's "Never Dreaming (in Four Burns) and Robert Reed's "Mystic Falls"; in December they had Rochita Loenen-Ruiz's "Of Alternate Adventures and Memory", and "Silent Bridge, Pale Cascade" by Benjanun Sriduangkaew. If you've enjoyed O.J. Cade's two stories with us this year, you may want to seek out Aurealis 66 for "Burning Green". And in addition to the story in End of the Road mentioned above, Zen Cho has stories in the anthologies Love in Penang and The Alchemy Press Book of Urban Mythic (plus a Spanish translation of "Prudence and the Dragon" at Cuentos para Algernon.) Sandra McDonald's "Our Daughters" appears in the latest Apex. Jamieson Ridenhour's "Captain Cleveland Grackle’s Galactic Cabaret vs. The Goblins of Vishnu 6" was in episode 104 of Cast of Wonders. Cat Rambo's flash, "Just the Facts: a Zombie Story" appeared in Daily SF. Tom Doyle's "Gifts of the Spirit" is at BuzzyMag. Innsmouth Magazine issue 14 includes Orrin Grey's "Night's Foul Bird", among others. M. Frost's "The Blossom Project" appears in Looking Landwards, a collaboration between NewCon Press and the Institute of Agricultural Engineers to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the latter. James S. Dorr's "Eudora" is in Blood Type: an Anthology of Vampire SF on the Cutting Edge -- print edition due in January, profits to The Cystic Fibrosis Trust; and his "The Cherry Tree" is in Miseria's Chorale. Mari Ness' "In the Greenwood" is at Tor.com. The latest Ideomancer includes Bonnie Jo Stufflebeam's "The Mammoth". David C. Kopaska-Merkel's story "A Better Place" is in the December issue of The Fifth Di.... Claire Humphrey has two new stories out, "Haunts in Interzone 249 and "Your Figure Will Assume Beautiful Outlines" at Beneath Ceaseless Skies. And the first issue of Lakeside Circus already includes work by Sofia Samatar, Ada Hoffmann, and Megan Arkenberg, with more by Victor Fernando R. Ocampo, FJ Bergmann, Richard Larson and others still to come. And not to get ahead of ourselves, but the February 2014 issue of Asimov's should be hitting newstands around now, and includes Sarah Pinsker's entertainingly titled "The Transdimensional Horsemaster Rabbis of Mpumalanga Province", among other delights.

On the non-fiction front, Carmen Maria Machado has an essay at the New Yorker: "Luxury Shopping, From the Other Side of the Register". Daniel Jose Older has an essay in Apex, "Another World Waits: Towards an Anti-Oppressive SFF" that follows on from the round-table he organised for us in September. Peg Duthie is interviewed at Moving Poems Forum about the Poetry Storehouse videopoems of "Playing Duets with Heisenberg's Ghost" created by Nic Sebastian and Othniel Smith. Cat Rambo has her first non-fiction book out, advice for writers on Creating an Online Presence. Alice Sola Kim writes about discovering the work of Philip K. Dick as a teenager in "Bummed out and Ugly".
