The sparkling surface

of her personality

has become a lattice

to his familiarity.

Beyond the lattice

a vacuum that devours

all it surveys with

aimless abandon.

He is swirled downward,

limbs outstretched,

a helpless crucifixion

on her hollow night.

And every time

he tries to cry out,

she swallows his voice

like everything else.

She leaves him mute

and forever falling

through the infinite space

of her vacuous embrace.
