I really enjoyed the tone of this one, the clarity and sharpness of the prose.

And you know how I feel about anything like a fairytale retold...!

...I'll likely have to read this again tomorrow to get a better hold of the nuances of the story.

For now, I am just very, very impressed.

What a great story! I particularly loved the ending, which was unexpected but perfect.

I thought this was a wonderful story. Very nice indeed. I've put a short review of it here:

Most speculative short stoires confuse me with symbolism and other things. Sometimes I feel stupid. I picked up on the Snow White references, but not the shrinking nor the what happned at the end. Help a frustrated reader please...?

I was struck by the tone of the piece, so matter - of - fact and unadorned, especially considering the fairy-tale and dream subject matter.

I am usure of what to make of it - of course, one expects the tone to be lighter and more flamboyant with this sort of subject. I think the contrast makes a strange story more believeable, but I also think it takes some of the fun away.

I dunno, what do you think?

While I found the prose sharp and tight, it was often too much so, leaving me with a metallic, lifeless feeling.

At any rate, though I had reservations about yet another retelling of yet another classic fairy tale, this one twisted wonderfully, wickedly.

Brava, Merrie.

I really enjoyed reading this story. The tone was great, murky and sort of evil. SWEET. Merrie, you did a great job, i really want to read some more stuff from you. i think i like this version of the story better than the original; its more magical.
