Dear writers, you have been writing so much in this portal time.

It's amazing, really. We're spoiled for choice. Thank you for trusting us with your writing!

That said, Fiction submissions will close for November-December 2020.
Given the increased volume of submissions and the pressure on first readers and editors, we will be closing fiction submissions early this year, from November 1 to December 31. This means that the last window for general fiction submissions in 2020 will be October 26-27. Get your stories ready or hold them until January 2021!

Special issue submissions open soon!
Fiction submissions for the Palestinian Special issue will open in November 2020, so if you are Palestinian, please keep a lookout for that announcement!

Fiction submissions still under review:
Though we have a significant backlog and are facing delays in responding as a result, we are reading and responding to all the stories in our queue. If you've already sent us something, rest assured that we will read it. Please use Moksha to check on the status of your story if you have not received a response by email. Please keep in mind that the average response time in Moksha is an indication that some stories may take longer.

We take a lot of care with the work we read. We thank you for sending your work and hope you will be patient with us.
