N.K. Jemisin is a transplanted Southerner growing (surprisingly well) in the cold stony soil of Boston, Massachusetts. Her short fiction has appeared in the Scattered, Covered, Smothered anthology from Two Cranes Press, Ideomancer, and Fishnet. She is a 2002 graduate of the Viable Paradise writer's workshop, a current member of the Boston-Area SF Writers' Group, and the 2004 winner of the Speculative Literature Foundation's Travel Grant.
