Vinita Agrawal lives in Indore, India. She has authored seven books of poetry and edited two anthologies on climate change. Her latest collection of poetry, The Hour of God (Red River Press), is a reflection on impermanence. Her poem "Conversation with a Seed" won an award at Brew Poetry in 2025. She also received a prize for her poem "The Light Phenomena" from the Science Fiction and Fantasy Poetry Association in 2025. She was the runner-up for both the Mānoa Poetry Prize 2025 and the Earth Amulet Poetry Prize (River Paw Press). She received the Jayanta Mahapatra National Award for Literature 2024; the Proverse Prize, Hong Kong 2021; the Rabindranath Tagore Literary Prize 2018; and the Gayatri GaMarsh Memorial Award for Literary Excellence, USA 2015. She convened the PEN All-India Centre at Prithvi Theatre, Mumbai.
