Little things make her love him:

he says he'll call and does,

remembers to lower the seat,

makes soup when she's sick.

Krill soup, but still.

Now she flies underwater,

lays their egg on his horned feet,

wings like iced hope on her back.

She most recently edited Broad Knowledge: 35 Women Up To No Good, and her own poetry has appeared in dozens of places including Asimov's, The Fiddlehead, Grain, and previously in Strange Horizons.
