Marcela Ortiz: Twisted Reality 8

Marcela Ortiz is an 18-year old artist currently living in Las Vegas, NV. She has always been doodling ever since she could hold a pen or pencil, but she never concieved becoming a professional artist until later in her life. Wanting to be a psychologist, she took her first psychology class in her junior year of high school and quickly realized that her need to draw in her classes stemmed from more than just boredom. From that moment on, she has been determined to make art her career.

Marcela uses her art as an escape from life's realities by twisting them into her own realities. For the most part, Marcela is a self-taught artist but is currently in the process of getting her Bachelors in Fine Art to refine her talent. Art surrounds her life, whether it's working on commissions, sketching ideas between (and usually during) classes, or manifesting her thoughts into some sort of creation. She gets inspired by other artists (such as Brom, Vladimir Kush, and Jhonen Vasquez), her life and experiences, and, simply, her environment. Many of her ideas just wander nonchalantly into her head, often reflecting a world that doesn't exist outside the boundaries of her mind; so, she makes them exist! Marcela is constantly striving to bring her art to a new level while maintaining her unique style. She dreams of being an artist as a sole career while travelling and exploring this crazy world until she settles down to create the greatest art of all . . . a family.
