our stares locked as I fell into the celestial trance his brown eyes
carried me in; Aries and Cancer, the Ram and the Sun.
Had I known what the stars held for us,
I would have locked myself away in another galaxy—in another time—
but the universe needs it paintings,
and our energy gave new madness to what
fate punched into the sky at night.
