Born in Los Angeles, Nicholas Lawrus has lived in Detroit, Michigan, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Fort Lauderdale, Florida, before finally landing in the Bay Area of Northern California. He has studied art and photography at Diablo Valley College and the University of California, Berkeley. He considers himself a magical realist.
