The Rhysling Awards have been given since 1979 for outstanding achievement in long and short speculative poetry, and this year's first-round nominations just closed: we're delighted to say that we have nine poems up for consideration, many of which will appear in this year's Rhysling Anthology. But if you can't wait for that, you can read them here:
- "Propagation" by Layla Al-Bedawi
- "The Poem Gardens of the Ascari" by Rohinton Daruwala
- "Little Stomach" by Charlotte Geater
- "Interview with a 22nd-Century Sex Worker" by Darren Lipman
- "The Sparrows in Her Hair" by Hester J. Rook
- "I Will Be Your Grave" by Tlotlo Tsamaase
- "The Fantasy of Hans Christian Andersen" by K. H. van Berkum
- "Classification of Folktales" by Margaret Wack
- "To the Girl Who Ran Through Crop Circles" by Karen J. Weyant
Congratulations (and good luck) to all of the nominated poems, and thanks to those who nominated them!
