I have been drawing and painting science fiction and fantasy subjects as long as I can remember, but until eight or so years ago illustrating it was only a hobby, something I would do to relax. Most of my efforts had been in academics. After earning advanced degrees in Physical Anthropology and Archaeology, I spent five or six years working in the field excavating. But I experienced burnout, and took a job at Dark Horse Comics. This re-ignited my creative drive and after three years I left to pursue my own painting and projects. I have been illustrating as a means of making a living ever since. I have found a nice little niche for myself that satisfies my natural anti-authoritism, reclusiveness and my need for adulation all at once.
