She is Lecturer in Ancient History at Newman University (Birmingham, UK); her book, Dreams and Dreaming in the Roman Empire (Bloomsbury), was recently released in paperback. She contributes regularly to Den of Geek and Doux Reviews and maintains a blog, Pop Classics, focusing on representations of ancient Greece and Rome in modern popular culture.
