Mimi Mondal is a Dalit woman from India who writes about politics and history, occasionally camouflaged as fiction. Her first co-edited anthology, Luminescent Threads: Connections to Octavia E. Butler, received a Locus Award in 2018, and was shortlisted for a Hugo and a British Fantasy Award. Mimi currently lives in New York and tweets from @Miminality.

“The Trees of My Youth Grew Tall” belongs to a loose story arc, from which “Other People” and “This Sullied Earth, Our Home” have been previously published, and “His Footsteps, Through Darkness and Light” is forthcoming from Tor.com in 2019.
